This course runs in-house at your organisation, taught in English or Thai, with cases and exercises rebuilt from the work of the department taking it.

What you will be able to do

  • Write clear prompts that get results that fit the job
  • Refine prompts systematically when the result is not good enough yet
  • Build prompt templates you can reuse
  • Choose the technique that suits each kind of work

One-day schedule

09:00–16:00 · topics, cases and exercises can be adapted to your organisation’s work

  1. 09:00–10:30

The principles of a good prompt

    • What AI answers from: tokens, context and the model's limits
    • Why a vague question gets a middling answer you cannot use
    • Which data may go into a prompt, and which must not

ActivityCompare the answers from a vague prompt and a clear one, on your own work

  2. 10:30–10:45

    Break

  3. 10:45–12:00

    Prompt structure and giving context

    • The TCFR structure: Task starts with a verb, then Context, Format and Ref
    • Context that makes the answer fit the job: background, sources and a measurable goal
    • Setting the format of the answer so it can be used straight away

ActivityWrite TCFR prompts for three routine tasks

  4. 12:00–13:00

    Lunch

  5. 13:00–14:30

    Popular techniques

    • Giving examples (few-shot) and assigning a role
    • Breaking work into steps, and having AI ask questions before it answers
    • Working with several files: merging, comparing and creating new work

ActivityFix a prompt whose results miss the mark until it produces work you can really use

  6. 14:30–14:45

    Break

  7. 14:45–16:00

Systematic refinement and a template library

    • Fixing a prompt one part at a time when the result still misses
    • Checking results before use: facts, numbers and sources
    • Building a library of prompt templates the team can share

ActivityBuild a library of five prompt templates from your own work
