MCP Training for Technical Teams: Connect AI to Company Systems
AI agents are valuable when they can reach your organisation's data and systems. The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is the open standard that Claude, ChatGPT and coding tools use to connect to outside systems. This course teaches technical teams to build and run their own MCP servers, with permissions, logging and security.

What you will be able to do
- Explain the MCP architecture, and know which work should be a tool, a resource or a prompt
- Build an MCP server that opens internal data or systems to AI assistants
- Connect an MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT and the coding tools your team uses
- Design permissions, authentication and call logging that can be audited later
- Test and run MCP servers in production, while keeping cost and risk under control

Before the class
- A team that can write code and understands basic APIs
Frequently asked questions
- What background do we need?
- The team must be able to write code and understand basic APIs. The course sits at level 4 of the AI Learning Layer and is for technical teams only.
- Which AI tools does it work with?
- MCP is an open standard. The main tools that support it today include Claude, ChatGPT and coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex. We adapt the examples to the tools your organisation already uses.
