  1. 09:00–10:30

    Foundations of data analysis with AI

    • How far AI can analyse data, and where it often goes wrong
    • Which data may go into AI under your organisation's data policy
    • Start from a business question, not from the table

    ActivityWrite three business questions from your own work or from a sample dataset

  2. 10:30–10:45

    Break

  3. 10:45–12:00

    Preparing and cleaning data

    • Having AI find duplicates, blanks and inconsistent formats
    • Cleaning the data with a change log of what was changed
    • Combining several files and sheets so they are ready to analyse

  5. 13:00–14:30

    Asking questions of data and building charts

    • Asking about the data in plain language, and having AI explain its reasoning every time
    • Building simple charts and dashboards that answer business questions
    • Having AI help write formulas, and making sure you can read each one before using it

    Checking results and telling a story with data

    • Checking the numbers AI gives against the source data
    • Catching cases where AI concludes more than the data says
    • Writing a report that tells a story with data (data storytelling) and proposes next steps

    ActivityProduce a one-page analysis report with charts, then check its accuracy with another participant
